In 2003, Shawn received his BS degree in Health Promotion. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is presently founding the newly formed Plyometric Special Interest Group through the NSCA. Through the NSCA, Shawn has spoke extensively on Plyometrics at numerous State NSCA clinics and will be speaking numerous times throughout 2009. His wealth of experience begins at a personal level as a competitive bodybuilder, winning the NPC Wisconsin State Championship in 1999 and 2001, and eventually competing at the National-level. Shawn took his passion for training athletes to the next level, the professional level, as a strength coach on the Strength & Conditioning Staff with the Chicago Bears in 2003. Shawn has also spent time working with Louie Simmons, regarded by many as the top strength coach in the world, as well as 6-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates. In addition to all of this, he has trained Collegiate National Champion Athletes, Professional Athletes, and has also worked closely with various high schools / sports organizations to implement the best possible athletic performance program available for them!

In 2005, Jason received his BS in Computer Engineering from The University of Wisconsin. As an athlete most of his life, Jason quickly realized his passion was working with other athletes in the realm of athletic performance training. He then decided to co-found Explosive Edge Athletics, along with Shawn Myszka, and serve as the business director. Jason is working to complete his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the NSCA. He is currently certified as a Speed/Power Specialist through StrengthPro, Inc.

Jason has a wealth of experience working with various organizations and individuals in helping them reach their expected goals. He enjoys meeting with sports groups, Athletes, Parents and those involved in athletics to discuss the training philosophy at Explosive Edge Athletics and how it can be customized to meet their particular needs. Nick Pinkelman, SPS

In 2003, Nick graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. While at Southwest, Nick was a three-year Division II Varsity Football player.

Nick Pinkelman comes to Explosive Edge Athletics from the Los Angles Angels of Anaheim organization where he was the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Extended Spring Training and Rookie Teams in Tempe, AZ, while also working to get the injured athletes throughout the organization back on the field.  Prior to joining the Angels, Nick was with the University of Minnesota as a Strength and Conditioning Intern working with teams including Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey, Men’s Basketball, Men’s Track and Field, and Men’s and Women’s Golf.  His area of interest is the movement of rotation.  Nick’s research is focused on sport specific rotational movements and the correct application of explosive-ballistic training to them. He is currently certified as a Speed/Power Specialist through StrengthPro, Inc.
